Celebrating a Strong Season!

The season for most of our GSGFN partner retailers is coming to an end, with our own City Green markets and our Thanksgiving market wrapped up for the season. While we don’t have our data collected yet, we are well on track for our most successful season to date! The market teams in our network have been hard at work to ensure that everyone in their community has access to affordable, farm fresh New Jersey produce. We are so grateful for their commitment to the program and we will be celebrating their success with an end of year slideshow highlighting their favorite moments and events from this season.

While our farmers’ market partners are wrapping up their seasons, our work with grocery stores continues this winter! We are already working with the ShopRite of Newark to provide Good Food Bucks for fresh fruits and vegetables year-round to all of their SNAP customers. Also, this offseason we are actively expanding our grocery store partnerships and hope to reach even more customers all across the state!

Here at City Green we culminated our season with our 3rd annual Thanksgiving Market on Sunday, November 21st where we saw a fantastic turnout for our end-of-season produce and a number of local vendors we invited to our market. Over 300 people attended the market at our Clifton location! This was the last chance for many of our FMNP shoppers with WIC and Senior FMNP Vouchers to make use of their checks and receive Good Food Bucks to ensure that their dollars went twice as far.

We have much to celebrate and be grateful for at City Green as we are already looking forward to our 2022 GSGFN season! We will be reaching even more customers with grocery stores and new markets in more areas of the state. This means that even more New Jerseyans will have access to affordable, fresh produce and will stretch their dollar twice as far. Keep an eye out for Good Food Bucks markets and stores near you, and visit GoodFoodBucks.com to see which farmers markets in our network will be open this winter season!
